Knowledge sharing across Yara’s production network
For the visitors from Yara Babrala in India, the stay in Porsgrunn has been about more than the turnaround itself. It has also been an opportunity to learn from each other. Experiences related to mechanical maintenance, equipment reliability, safety, and the execution of major turnarounds have been shared across the two Yara sites.
Sharing experience and expertise
-One of the most valuable aspects has been experiencing a different working culture and seeing how the work is carried out in Porsgrunn. At the same time, we have had the opportunity to share our own experiences from Babrala. Collaboration across regions and cultures shows how different perspectives and expertise can help us achieve common goals, says Deepak.
Digital Twin technology is highlighted as one of the areas that made a particularly strong impression, both as a tool for planning and visualisation. The technology helps improve productivity and operational efficiency. The experience has also provided inspiration for potential areas of development across the wider production network.
Herøya is different from our plant in India in several ways, which makes the visit particularly valuable from a learning perspective. I am impressed by the strong safety culture and the high level of HSE awareness. It is positive to see how everyone follows safety procedures and contributes to a safe working environment, says Ankit.
He describes his stay in Porsgrunn as highly rewarding, both professionally and personally, and greatly appreciates the open sharing of knowledge and experience.
The stay has also given Deepak Kumar and Ankit Sharma the opportunity to explore Telemark, with a trip to Gaustatoppen among the highlights. The visit has provided valuable professional insights as well as good memories from the region.
