Hydro Aluminium Technology Centre

Hydro Aluminium Technology Centre is based in Herøya Research Park. Here, just over 30 highly qualified employees work on research and technology development directed at Hydro's primary production of aluminium.

Research and innovation are a key to growth for Hydro Aluminium, and the focus area is operational support and technology development.

The staff of researchers at Porsgrunn work in teams, and their main tasks are environmental systems, material properties and design, together with bauxite and alumina.

Within primary aluminium, Hydro's main R&D activities are based in Porsgrunn, Årdal and Neuss in Germany.
